Tales from the King's Court

Tales from the King’s Court is the second Maegi album. Dedicated fans and friends partially crowdfunded the album and continued the Maegi tradition of featuring guest artists. Near to many local artists, the album also featured Dreamtone veterans Onur Ozkoc and Ozan Alparslan, Gary Wehrkamp and Joe Nevolo of Shadow Gallery, as well as Mike LePond of Symphony X and Silent Assassins.

Album Story

The album was a natural evolution from Skies Fall. Where Skies Fall was full of anger in its construction, Tales from the King’s Court was full of intrigue and fun. The compositions were about my cleansed emotions and what I wanted to do. Although I enjoyed all the tracks, Hallowed are the Ori, Armored Pride, and Drink Like a Dwarf became fan favorites.

The song “Make it Rain” is a track I wrote before my father’s terminal diagnosis and eventual passing to memorate him and to tell the emotional state I was in as he slowly faded away before my eyes. To this day, I still skip the track whenever I listen to the album.
